Winter Oil Temp/Cold Temps

I have a 79 Dakota and live in Wisconsin - flyin in the winter I can only get oil temps up to about 160 at best. I used to fly a Cherokee 180 and that had a plate you could install to reduce cooling of the oil in winter - that worked great. I can't find find an equivalent for the bigger 235 engine. Does anyone have experieince with this - please let me know - thanks.
